Short named acmd it is similar to the Midnight Commander.

  • To run acmd from the downloaded Ajla directory, go into that directory and run ajla programs/acmd/acmd.ajla
  • Operations on large number of small files are faster than Midnight Commander thanks to multithreaded design.

DNG2PDF

Converts a raw DNG smartphone photo of a document into PDF using an advanced sharpening and lighting correction algorithm.

DNG2PDF requirements

  • Program dcraw (package name dcraw) must be installed to decode DNGs.
  • Program mutool (package name mupdf-tools) must be installed to compress and web-optimize the resulting PDF.

Downloading and using DNG2PDF

  • To run DNG2PDF, download dng2pdf.ajla and run ajla dng2pdf.ajla .
  • Running without parameters prints usage help.
  • Separately available for download and study in online dng2pdf directory

DNG2PDF features

  • Supports rotations and flips and automatically chooses portrait or landscape paper.
  • Lens blur increases towards the corners. The sharpening algorithm increases sharpening strength towards the corners to compensate this.
  • Nonuniform lighting from camera flash is corrected as well.
  • A sharpening algorithm that doesn't produce edge overshoots is used: time reversed Gaussian blur.

Sunset calculator

Useful for outdoor walks so that you know when it's getting dark. Calculates civil dawn and dusk from GPS coordinates, timezone, and day of year.
